Biology 050 is the study of the human body.  In Biology 050 the student will be studying biochemistry, cell structure, plasma membrane function, cell division, gene expression and genetics followed by detailed learning of the following systems:  digestive, bone and muscle, nervous, respiratory, circulatory, urinary and lastly an overview of the endocrine.   A brief introduction will be provided for immunity.  Biology 050 can be a preparatory course for those continuing in health sciences.  For those not continuing in the health sciences, Biology 050 is a great course to learn about how your body functions.

There is a required lab component for Biology 050 where concepts learnt in lecture are further explored.
